Neoclassical style gilt and patinated bronze urn in the manner of Claude Galle, mid 19th century, of elongated teardrop form, the trumpet neck encircled by acanthus leaf mounts, flanked by a pair of handles formed as two Classically clad maidens resting their hands on the circular gadrooned rim, and their feet on tapering acanthus leaves supported by Egyptian masks, the body of the vase mounted with putti riding lions and winged maidens, ending in a socle, the whole rising on a canted base mounted with winged putti and wreaths, terminating to gilt paw feet, 20"h x 6.75"dia.
