19thc Staffordshire Black White Spaniel Dogs

Large size, superb pair of 1860's Staffordshire black & white coloring with gilt collars, lockets & chains. Spaniel dogs with the wonderful facial decoration, pointed noses and overall portrayals. Featured in the book A-Z of Staffordshire Dogs, A Potted History by Clive Mason Pope, confirming the date of c1860s. 12 1/4" H. 7" X 4 1/4" underneath size at the hollowed base. Max diameter including the curly tails of about 9 1/2". **considering the age: the overall condition is excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes except due to age: overall areas of rubbing with loss of color of which with today's modern & advanced techniques can certainly be improved.
