1¢ NATIONAL AUTOMATIC MACHINE CO. MODEL 170 NORMANDY CHIMES SCALE
The National Automatic Machine Co. created this floor model penny scale in 1929. To operate, patrons step on the scale and then drop a penny into the coin slot. The dial will then spin around to their weight in pounds. After stepping off the scale, the penny drops through a pin field and is either returned to the patron or rolls through a set of ramps, ringing the "Normandy Chimes" as it rolls into the cash box. CONDITION: All original condition with a paper dial, where most have a beveled mirror. Some paint chipping and fade to the paper, all consistent with age. Has the original cash box and overall a great example of a rare penny scale. PROVENANCE: From the lifelong collection of Bill Howard. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Good) Dimensions: 25" X 23" X 73"
