This is a wonderful example of this iconic vending machine by the General Merchandise Co. "Smilin' Sam from Alabam', the salted peanut man" is a figural peanut vending machine where you deposit your coin in the slot in his head, and pull his tongue to get a full portion of salted peanuts. CONDITION: In all original paint, and partial original decals, with paint chips and some oxidation. However, this example has an aged patina, the look most collectors like for this very desirable vending machine. Referenced in "Silent Salesman Too" by Bill Enes, page 150.
