Scarce and detailed report on the early stages of the engineering marvel that connects San Francisco to Oakland and the East Bay, a key to the growth and vibrance of the Bay Area. Front cover stamped in gilt with the name of Joseph R. Knowland, and signed by him on front leaf. Knowland is listed in the report as being on the Financial Advisory Committee. Besides serving in the U.S. Congress from 1904 to 1915, he was the longtime owner, editor and publisher of the Oakland Tribune. A number of newspaper clipping relating to Knowland and the bridge are laid in. OCLC/WorldCat locates only three copies of this report, at the Contra Costa County Library, the Oakland Public Library, and ETH-Bibliothek Zurich.
Condition Report: Fading to spine and portions of front cover, some wear to extremities; very good.
