2 “AS FOUND” HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1842 MUSKETS.

BOTH: cal. 69. NSN. A rare 1845 dated example which appears all matching & complete. 1) CONDITION: good overall, dark brown iron patina w/ pitting, lock markings crisp & discernible, bbl. proofs discernible though bbl. date is not fully legible, front sling swivel missing. Stock is sound & color, old l3.5” chip repair rear of the hammer, cartouches an outline only. Mechanically fine w/ dark pitted bore. 2) Cal. 69. 1850 dated, standard configuration w/ 42" bbl. This example is complete & 100% original & matching. Lock, bbl. markings & cartouches all discernible. CONDITION: very good overall, metal is a mix of gray/brown patina, markings all crisp as seen in photographs other than bbl. date was only partially struck, stock is sound w/ hand worn patina visible cartouches w/ marring, numerous small storage dings & dents. Mechanically excellent w/ smooth clear dark bore. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Ronald A. Katchuk. (01-16763(2)/JS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,500.
