2 African Textile, 20th C. 1) Bamana Mud Cloth: Originating from Mali, This cloth is made of cotton. Size: 54'' x 35'', 137 x 89 cm. And 2) Fulani Blanket: This indigo-dyed cotton blanket measures 104'' x 59'', (264 x 150 cm). Blankets, known as munnyuure, were an essential part of a married woman's wardrobe in Mali. It was customary for women to wear this piece draped over their should or head when leaving the house, as it symbolized status. Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
