Pair of Chinese Qianlong bronze dragon candleholders, marked and possibly of the period, each having a candle pricket above a small tray with an everted rim, surmounting a conical standard resting on a larger tray also having an everted rim, the whole supported by a bell shaped base cast in high relief with confronting five clawed dragons contesting flaming pearls of wisdom amidst flames and auspicious cloud forms, framed by ruyi and lappet bands, the dragon motif repeated around the standard and the exterior of each tray, terminating to a foot with conforming decoration and a horizontal reserve containing a raised six character Qianlong mark, 20"h x 9"w.
