2 Japanese Woodblocks

Two mid 19th century Japanese woodblocks on paper. Includes one from the "Heroes of the Taiheiki" series by Utagawa Yoshikazu (Japanese, active c. 1848-1870), and one from the play "Kanadehon Chushingura" by Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III, Japanese, 1787-1865). Minor toning and foxing, Kunisada woodblock with some insect damage, not examined out of frames. Images up to 9 1/2 x 13 3/4" high, in Gilded "bamboo" frames with minor flaking, up to 13 3/4 x 17 3/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
