Pair of monumental Chinese covered cloisonne vases on stands, of baluster form, each having a lid with a ball finial decorated with a writhing dragon and lotus scroll, above a banded neck also decorated with lotus scroll on a cobalt ground, the body having a ruyi band surmounting writhing five clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls of wisdom amidst crashing waves, tapering to a splayed foot with lappet bands and lotus scroll, each resting on a pierce carved custom stand, 70"h x 20"w; overall size with stand 82"h x 24"w.
