Pair of monumental Chinese cloisonne vases on stands, of baluster form, each having a dished rim with a leiwen band surmounting a trumpet neck embellished with floral cartouches flanked by ruyi and lappet bands, above a body decorated on one side with a pair of peacocks standing on rockwork under a tallow tree with chrysanthemums, the other side decorated with a phoenix, doves, quail, duck, and pheasants amidst peony, magnolia, and binweed, all on an Imperial yellow ground, tapering to a lappet band and rising on a circular foot with lotus scroll and cartouches depicting cranes and lotus ponds, each resting on a custom stand, 100"h x 36"w; overall size with stand 117"h x 40"w.
