2 Neapolitan Views of Mount Vesuvius

Two 19th century Neapolitan School gouache on paper views of Mount Vesuvius. Day and night depictions of figures and boats on the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius erupting in the distance. Day image titled "Vesuvio di Napoli" and night image "Vesuvio di Napoli Eruzione del Mese di Giugno 1834" lower center. Some toning, foxing and minor staining, night image with 2" tear center left, day image with losses to lower right corner, not examined out of frames. Images up to 13 1/2 x 17 1/2" high, in Birdseye Maple frames with some wear, up to 20 1/2 x 16 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $300-400
