A survey of the full range of mathematical instruments then available from the French royal instrument maker (ingénieur du roi pour les instruments de mathématique). A German translation was published in 1712 (see next lot), and frequently reissued; an English translation by Edward Stone appeared in 1723 (see lot 66).
