Cataloger Note: Two Victorian burr walnut caskets with highly figured veneers and Tunbridge ware-style geometric marquetry borders. (1) Dome-top casket with elongated mother-of-pearl cartouche, ornate diamond-form brass keyhole escutcheon, and mustard-yellow velvet-lined interior with padded and braided detailing to the inner lid. (2) Flat-top rectangular casket with flush brass cartouche and an emerald-green moiré silk-lined interior. Likely intended as glove, jewelry, or personal accessory boxes.
