Fr. 1133-I $1,000 1918 Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Very Fine 35. A great rarity from the 1918 $1000 FRN Series, this note is one of only two pieces reported from the Minneapolis district. If a collector has the ambition, and the means, to attempt to put together a district set of these high denomination notes, the Minneapolis district is indeed the rarest, with the exception of the unreported Richmond district. According to the Martin Gengerke census, just two notes are currently reported - one example that traded privately in the 1980s and which has not been seen since, and this offering, which made its lone previous public appearance in a 1991 Stacks sale. Fortunately, it is also a very attractive note, displaying great color, solid margins, and just light, even wear. This is a great opportunity for the high denomination specialist that may not appear again for years, if not decades.
