Fr. 1217 $500 1922 Gold Certificate PMG Choice Fine 15. While this $500 has spent a fair amount of time in circulation, it is a survivor, bearing only some slight evidence of its journey. It features a large portrait of Lincoln on the gold, red, and black face and a wonderful vignette of an American eagle with the Stars and Stripes in its talons on the orange-gold back. The Track & Price census lists 63 survivors. That any survivors are around for such a large denomination note is a minor miracle. PMG notes a couple of unobtrusive stamped numbers on the back as well as minor rust that is difficult to locate through the holder.
