Fr. 1225h $10,000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ Three Examples. This is the second trio of consecutively numbered $10,000 Gold Certificates we are offering tonight. The story of these is well known. They were in storage at the Old Post Office Building in Washington DC in December, 1935 when a fire broke out. These were jettisoned from the upper windows and rescued by onlookers. As they were all cancelled and not payable to the bearer, they were without value except to collectors. Many have sustained slight water damage and other distractions from the fire, but these three consecutively numbered notes have none of those issues. All three notes exhibit bright original paper surfaces and good color with attractive margins and centering.
