Louis Latour: Corton Charlemagne 2010, 2011 Maison Louis Latour has a nine-hectare plot on the hill of Corton, perfectly located halfway up the slopes and facing south-east. The grapes are harvested by hand as late as possible in order to ensure maturity. This is followed by meticulous destemming followed by a 3-week maceration during which the punching of the cap is carried out several times. Aging lasts about 18 months in their coopers' barrels, 30% of which are new. This powerful wine presents a rich bouquet of lemon and tropical fruit. It is intense on the mouth as well, fine aromas, embellished with mineral notes. With great persistence in the mouth, it needs to be kept for around five years before fully opening. The Corton-Charlemagne from Maison Louis Latour has proven its decades-long longevity. To pair with food and wine, lamb chops or osso bucco are the perfect accompaniment.
