A collaboration with international artist Mathieu Mercier, who draws inspiration from 20th-century European “avant-garde utopias.” Limited and numbered to 777 pieces, presented in special packaging. The watch is set on an elegant circular structure made of transparent burgundy plastic, the size of a bangle bracelet, and can be worn as a piece of jewelry in its own right.
The dial, adorned with a multicolored kaleidoscopic print, references Mercier’s archives. It is surrounded by a 41-mm solid black plastic case, attached to a solid black silicone strap. Mercier stated that he was inspired by the clocks featured in his works: “I was greatly inspired by my collaboration with Swatch. I make extensive use of the concept of time in my exhibitions, just as I do with clocks in my works. “Time is fascinating because it eludes any attempt to understand it better. The more we pursue it, the more abstract it becomes.” The design chosen by Swatch is based on a series of paintings by the artist that began in 2003. It is a kaleidoscope revealing the artificiality of our pictorial codes and cultural values.”
