I had the opportunity to taste the inaugural vintage of 2013 on the occasion of a trip to the city of Chengdu, capital of Sichuan cuisine. It is a magnificent example of how to trace the most unexpected places on the planet to make a high quality wine. Supported by the Moët Hennessy group, French winemaker Maxence Dulou and his 120 Chinese-Tibetan grape-farmers work to impress with this Ao Yun 2015, a vintage that continues to tell of the potential of this origin in the sacred Meili Mountain.
