La prima annata del Brunello di Montalcino Caparzo è datata 1970, anni in cui la situazione della denominazione era totalmente diversa da quella attuale. All’epoca infatti le cantine esistenti a Montalcino erano solamente 13, e questo dato colloca Caparzo tra le aziende storiche nella produzione di Brunello. La particolarità del Brunello di Montalcino Caparzo è sicuramente la provenienza del Sangiovese. L’azienda, infatti, è una delle pochissime cantine a Montalcino che vanta la proprietà di vigneti nelle diverse zone geografiche del territorio di produzione. Quello che potrebbe apparire un semplice dettaglio in realtà si rivela un importante plus, visto che grazie ai differenti posizionamenti delle vigne Caparzo può sfruttare al massimo i diversi microclimi e terroir presenti a Montalcino.
