2016 Shelby GT-H 50th Anniversary Hertz Rent-A-Racer Edition. This highly collectible and highly sought after vehicle is #30 of 171 ever made Shelby as a collaboration car with Hertz. In 1966, Ford and Carroll Shelby teamed up to produce a special run of rental cars. This would become a limited edition footnote in automotive history. Offered through select Hertz rental locations There were 171 of the exclusive 50th Anniversary Edition of the coveted Shelby built by the world famous Carroll Shelby exclusively for the Hertz Corporation. His signature is in silver on the dashboard to commemorate this iconic automobile. The Shelby GT-H has plenty of bespoke features to stand out next to the standard Mustang GT. The first thing that catches the eye is the black exterior paint with twin gold racing stripes commemorating the brand\'s \"Golden Anniversary.\" The rocker panels also received gold stripes with \"Shelby GT-H\" lettering, while several emblems and logos were added to the body. The car is numbered and is original. The lead auctioneer at GWS Auctions has been around classic cars her entire life and while we do not specialize in cars, Carroll Shelby used to attend auctions conducted by her family. She states that this is \"One of the most historically significant cars she has ever had the honor of selling.\" According to available reports and as a result of extensive research, only 140 units were produced and available exclusively via the Hertz Adrenaline Collection and only available at select airports in the US. The other 31 versions that were produced were made exclusively for executives and the rest had manual transmissions. This is piece of automobile history is number 30 of 140 of the automatic transmissions versions ever made. This car is fully equipped with all the options. The Shelby GT-H features the stock 5.0-liter quad-cam 435 horsepower “Coyote” V-8 factory engine. The auction house was recently contacted and given a corporate contact at Hertz, we were told we could get: the owners packet, window sticker, Shelby invoice, wheel caps and grill screws from them.
