Il Barolo “Sorano” di Claudio Alario è prodotto nel territorio del comune di Serralunga d’Alba, famoso per regalare un Barolo intenso, profondo e longevo. La Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva Sorano, si trova a nord della zona di Serralunga, proprio nella parte che s’incunea tra i territori dei comuni di Castiglione Falletto e Diano d’Alba, salendo verso Fontanafredda. Una zona di particolare pregio, che regala grandi vini, che confermano la straordinaria fama ormai acquisita dal Barolo presso gli appassionati di tutto il mondo. Il Barolo Sorano è ottenuto da vigne coltivate sulle splendide colline di Sorano a Serralunga d’Alba. Le viti hanno un’età di una decina d’anni e sono piantate a Guyot, con una densità di circa 4. 000/5. 000 ceppi per ettaro e gestite con basse rese, che non superano i 60 quintali per ettaro. Dopo la vendemmia, le uve di nebbiolo sono avviate alla classica vinificazione in rosso, con l’utilizzo di rotofermentatori termocondizionati. Al termine della fermentazione, il Barolo viene svinato e matura per 24 mesi in barrique di rovere francese, per altri 12 mesi in botte grande da 30 ettolitri, prima di concludere il lungo periodo d’affinamento con 2 anni in bottiglia. Il vino Barolo “Sorano”, come tradizione del territorio di Serralunga d’Alba, è un rosso importante e strutturato, di grande carattere e con una notevole propensione all’invecchiamento. Il colore è rosso rubino scarico con riflessi color granato. Il quadro olfattivo è di grande finezza ed eleganza con note di piccoli frutti a bacca rossa, sentori floreali e delicate sfumature boisé. Il sorso è profondo, intenso, persistente con aromi complessi ed evoluti che virano verso note terziarie, trama tannica di bella stoffa ed equilibrata freschezza. Il finale è lungo e persistente.
