Originally installed in 2019 COPO Camaro #43, this naturally aspirated 427 CI Chevrolet Performance COPO race engine carries direct provenance to one of just 50 Silver Anniversary COPO Camaros produced for the 2019 model year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the legendary 1969 COPO Camaro. Built specifically for NHRA Stock and Super Stock competition, the 427 utilized Chevrolet Performance's heavy-duty LSX architecture with a 4.125-inch bore and 4.000-inch stroke, forged internal components, high-compression pistons, performance cylinder heads, Holley Hi-Ram induction and electronic fuel injection. The 2019 427 combination was NHRA rated at approximately 470 HP, although that competition factor should not be confused with conventional street-engine output.What makes this engine particularly significant is its documented association with Silver 2019 COPO Camaro #43, giving it substantially greater collector interest than a comparable standalone COPO engine. The 2019 program deliberately paid tribute to the original 1969 COPO Camaros, with Chevrolet once again limiting production to 69 cars and offering a naturally aspirated 427 as the historically appropriate centerpiece of the anniversary package.
