Sassicaia è senza dubbio uno dei più celebri vini italiani nel mondo. Proviene da un vigneto di 75 ettari particolarmente vocato, in cui le parcelle presentano caratteristiche differenti, con formazioni calcaree e un alto contenuto sassoso, particolarità da cui deriva probabilmente il toponimo “sassicaia”. L’esposizione dei terreni è ad ovest e sud-ovest. La fermentazione avviene in acciaio, a temperatura controllata, con macerazione sulle bucce di circa 10 giorni. L’affinamento del Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC 2015 della Tenuta San Guido si svolge in barrique di rovere francese, per 24 mesi, con successiva sosta in bottiglia. Alla vista, il vino si presenta color rosso rubino intenso. Al naso si esprime su sentori di frutti rossi maturi, frutti di bosco e cola, erbe aromatiche e mandorle tostate. Al palato, il sorso è austero, ricco e compatto. Mostra un corpo sostenuto e buona componente acida. Progredisce su note di frutta secca, con finale profondo, persistente.

Sassicaia is undoubtedly one of the most famous Italian wines in the world. It comes from a vineyard of 75 hectares particularly suited, in which the parcels have different characteristics, with limestone formations and a high stony content, a particularity from which the toponym “sassicaia” probably derives. The land is exposed to the west and south-west. Fermentation takes place in steel, at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for about 10 days. The aging of Tenuta San Guido's Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC 2015 takes place in French oak barrels for 24 months, with subsequent stop in the bottle. At the sight, the wine has an intense ruby red color. The nose is expressed on hints of ripe red fruits, berries and cola, aromatic herbs and toasted almonds. On the palate, the sip is austere, rich and compact. It shows a sustained body and good acid component. It progresses on notes of dried fruit, with a deep, persistent finish.
