20TH C. OIL AND COLLAGE ON CANVAS, SIGNED LONG, C.1930 H 20", W 24", FRENCH STILL LIFE Signed lower right. Still life of fruits and wine on a table adjacent to a newspaper and radiator. Canvas, stretcher, and frame are all consistent with the date on the newspaper of October 9, 1930. Materials, subject, and style strongly suggest a painter of European origin or training. Stamp from the Parisian paint and canvas supply firm of Lucien Lefebvre Foinet stamp on canvas verso. Provenance: The estate of a prominent Bloomfield Hills, MI collector. By descent to consignor. Signed Long or Lang. Frame size H 25", W 29".

Condition Report: In original and untouched condition. Original canvas, stretcher, and frame. No evidence of restoration, or alteration. Newspaper collage shows evidence of lifting and discoloration due 1" vertical loss of pigment (scratch) adjacent to cork. Linen canvas bearing the stamp of Lucien Lefebvre Foiret, Paris. Fine quality work.
