Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lega peoples, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden stool with a disc-shaped base, a trio of curved legs, and a circular seat. The top of the seat is decorated with incised linear and stippled motifs, and a petite brass tack with a hemispherical head is fastened in the center. Size: 6.375" W x 4.125" H (16.2 cm x 10.5 cm).

Condition Report: Repairs to two areas of seat periphery, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor softening to some incised details, and nicks to base, legs, and seat. Great patina throughout.
