[ translate ]

**First Time At Auction**

Middle East, Yemen or Saudi Arabia, ca. 20th century CE. A beautiful Jambiya knife similar to that carried by the fabled Lawrence of Arabia. The steel metal blade has a curved composition with a raised midrib tracing the profile to a tapered point. The handle is concave on both lateral faces, with one flat portion exhibiting twin metal dowels and a textured midsection leading to a thin metal guard. The sheath is comprised of an interior wooden frame, with burgundy-hued leather wrappings, hammered brass sheets, and an openwork, bulb-form tip adornment on the exterior. The dramatically curved sheath profile is meant to safely house the curved blade while also providing for a unique and stylish appearance. Size: 8.5" H (21.6 cm).

Provenance: private Ventura County, California, USA collection

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#129401
