20th C. Japanese Military Pins (12 pcs)

[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $150**

East Asia, Japan, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A great collection of 12 military pins, most of which seem to be for naval achievements since these have anchor motifs. In addition, most have an inscription on the front or verso and either one or double pins for attaching to a uniform. Two have samurai profiles on them, and the one with red enamel is a senshou badge, meaning the soldier was wounded in combat. There is one pin included in this grouping which is likely not a military issued medal, but appears to be a rotund cartoon solider in a green outfit. Each pin comes with a storage box, and some are velvet lined and have inscriptions on the front. Size (largest pin): 1.5" L x 1.125" W (3.8 cm x 2.9 cm); (box): 3" L x 2.125" W (7.6 cm x 5.4 cm)

Provenance: private Centennial Colorado, USA collection, inherited from relative

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
