22 pieces coin silver flatware attributed to Stephen D. Choate, working Cincinnati c. 1836-1840, Louisville, Kentucky c. 1840-1855, and Shelby County KY 1855-1860+. Includes 1 egg or medicine spoon with oval bowl and long fiddle swell handle with tipt end; 5 tablespoon; 6 dessert spoons; and 10 teaspoons. All pieces are have incuse marks S.D. CHOATE LOUISVILLE except for 1 teaspoon which is not marked Louisville and 1 teaspoon stamped CHOATE in rectangle. 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon are additionally marked 5 STREET and all of the dessert spoons and egg spoon bear a flower stamp between CHOATE and LOUISVILLE (not pictured in Boultinghouse's photograph of the Choate Louisville mark). Combined weight: 17.05 oz troy. Reference: Boultinghouse, Marquis.
