24pc Royal Mail Steam Packet Company Maritime Ephemera Collection

A collection of 24 pieces of maritime and travel ephemera relating to the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (RMSP), dating from the early 20th century. The group includes a printed brown paper envelope with 12 postcards, titled SANTOS. And surrounding Places of Interest. Series VII. Accompanying this is a group of color lithograph and halftone postcards featuring scenic views of Santos, Buenos Aires, Madeira, Vigo, and Lisbon. Several postcards bear the RMSP company logo. The collection also features a large unused cabin baggage label for The Royal Mail Steam Packet Co. printed with a central crown logo and BERMUDA in blue and gold type, noting a departure from Pier 42, North River, New York. Many postcards include handwritten messages and postal cancellations, including postmarks from Madeira dated 1921 and Buenos Aires dated 1939.
