Sevres (French), 1772. Gilt soft-paste porcelain gobelet litron cup and saucer, painted by Hilken, both decorated with a foliate trellis centering on roundels with paintings of playful cherubs in a landscape, one next to an open book reading "Atree et Thyeste". Marked appropriately. Provenance: Acquired in 2009 from Albert Amor LTD at the Mayfair Antiques Show, London. Approx. overall, h. 2.5", dia. 4.45"
Condition Report: Minimal gilt loss and wear to decoration; firing imperfections; no apparent chips, cracks or restorations when examined under ultraviolet light.
