3 Fine Maya Chert Projectile Points / Blades

[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $250**

Pre-Columbian, Mexico to Guatemala, Maya and Toltec cultures, Classic to Post Classic period, ca. 600 to 1200 CE. A collection of 3 chert (flint) points knapped into lanceolate blades with short stems, which could be hafted to wood shafts or used as hand tools. However, the condition and size of these suggests these were votive pieces for burial or ritual, rather than use as hunting tools or weapons. The midsized blade has shimmering mica or quartz inclusions which might have added ceremonial value. Size of widest: 3.25" L x 2" W (8.3 cm x 5.1 cm)

Provenance: private British Columbia, Canada collection, gifted from aunt in Tucson, Arizona, USA, acquired prior to 1994

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.
