3 Roman Gold Earrings + Silver Jewelry Item

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A collection of 3 high quality 75.9% to 80.1% gold earrings (equivalent to 18K+ to 19K+) and a fragment of a silver bezel. The 3 earrings are annular shapes, created by bending the terminals ends that taper out from the slightly crescent shaped body, and 2 contain spherical settings that may have contained additional stones or beads. The silver item is ovoid, with the remains of loops on the verso for attaching to a band as a ring or bracelet setting - the face is infilled with mineral deposits and encrustations, but may have once contained an intaglio stone. Size of gold earring: 0.56" Diameter (1.4 cm); silver bezel: 0.8" Diameter (2 cm); gold quality: 75.9% to 80.1% (equivalent to 18K+ to 19K+); silver quality: 96.1%; total weight: 16.1 grams
