3 Wm. McKinley 1901 Mourning Ribbons & Fragment

Four (4) items total. Comprises: 1. Printed pink portrait ribbon with hymn titled, "Nearer, My God, to Thee!" by Sarah Flower Adams. Supposedly the first few lines of the hymn were McKinley's last words. 2. Deep purple printed silk memorial ribbon with black bow. Imprinted "President McKinley's Memorial". 3. Black printed silk mourning ribbon with applied duo-tone portrait. Bears text "The Nation Mourns / Canton, Ohio / Sept 19, 1901". Printed and sold by the Rolling Printing and Paper Co. of Canton, Ohio. 4. Fragment of a mourning ribbon with applied photographic portrait of McKinley trimmed to image. Provenance: Dr. Alan York Estate. [Largest (pink ribbon): 8 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches; Smallest: 1 3/4 inches wide]. Conditions vary, all fair to good. Pink ribbon in very good condition with two minor smudges and some moderate fraying at top and bottom. Purple ribbon in excellent condition with only some slight wrinkles. Black ribbon with some fraying. Portrait faded with one crease through the center. Fragment in fair condition, sold "as is".
Condition Report: Conditions vary, all fair-to-good. Pink ribbon in very good condition with two minor smudges and some moderate fraying at top and bottom. Purple ribbon in excellent condition with only some slight wrinkles. Black ribbon with some fraying. Portrait faded with one crease through the center. Fragment in fair condition, sold "as is".
