João Prince Regent gold "Special Commemorative Series" 6400 Reis 1816-R AU55 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM236.2, LMB-579. An impressive representative of the rare Special Series of 1816 type, demonstrating the characteristic obverse legend ending in "REG" rather than "REGENS". Lightly circulated, though with a definite golden sheen pervading over the surfaces, particularly pronounced around the reverse shield, where, if the coin were evaluated alone, one might think it to be Mint State.
