1872 3CS MS65+ PCGS. CAC. The prooflike appearance of this Plus-graded Gem is certainly a reflection of its 1,000-coin mintage. Bold devices stand out against partially reflective fields, especially on the obverse. Both sides are uniformly toned in an array of blue, green, gold and violet patina, delivering phenomenal visual appeal to match the excellent technical quality. The 1872 represents the final business-strike issue in the three cent silver series. Although they were never meant to circulate, high-grade Mint State survivors are rare and subject to widespread collector demand. Population: 3 in 65 (1 in 65+), 9 finer. CAC: 3 in 65, 7 finer (6/20). HID03101062020 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
