1852-O 25C MS62 ANACS. Briggs 1-A. The 1852-O was the last New Orleans issue struck before the weight reduction of this denomination in 1853. Only 96,000 pieces were minted, and a significant portion of these were lost to attrition or later melted for their silver content. This Mint State survivor is a major rarity. PCGS and NGC combined list only four Uncirculated examples (6/20). This ANACS coin displays satiny lavender-gray luster with minimal abrasions. Some strike weakness is noted on portions of the devices, but there is no discernible wear. An appealing condition rarity. HID03101062020 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
