4 19th c. HAVILAND & CO. LIMOGES OYSTER PLATES
Four (4) Antique Haviland & Co. Limoges, France Porcelain Oyster Plates. Scalloped rims, they have five oyster wells and a center sauce well, hand painted seaweed with gilt accents. Good condition. Each 9 1/2 in. Total weight 3 pds 11 oz. PROVENANCE: A Private Sullivan's Island SC Estate. The plate all carry both the 1888-1896 France cradle White Ware stamp and the 1893-1895 arched Haviland decorators mark. The union of these positively date the plates to between 1893 & 1895. These marks can all be found in Collectors Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain 3rd Ed. by Mary Frank Gaston. Approximate Retail Value is Between: $250 - $350
