4 European Silver Items, incl. Wine Taster & Figural

1st item: English George III sterling silver footed creamer with raised cartouche decoration to the body enclosing repousse designs of a female with children, raised on curved legs and shell feet. Partially visible English hallmarks to the underside. 3 5/8" H. 3.125 troy ounces. Note: Creamer retains an old Shreve, Crump, & Low Company tag. 2nd item: German sterling silver wine taster with raised Bacchus and grapevine decoration. Underside marked STERLING, GERMANY, .925. 3 7/8" dia. 1.825 troy ounces. Early 20th century. 3rd item: European sterling silver condiment server with cobalt liner, C-scroll handle, floral finial to the hinged lid, pierced cartouche and beaded body, on four scrolled feet. Three illegible hallmarks, one to the underside of the lid, one to handle, and one along the body edge. 3 7/8" H. 2.390 troy ounces sterling. 19th century. 4th item: Continental, likely Austrian figural silver rooster lighter with removable comb for adding oil. Worn hallmarks to the underside, tests .900 silver, 3.845 troy ounces. Combined weight all sterling items: 7.34 troy ounces. Provenance: The collection of Gary Glesser of Loudon, Tennessee, by descent from his grandparents, Captain Hoyt and Rachel Holton of Toledo, Ohio. Hoyt Holton became, at age 17, the youngest captain of a Great Lakes Freighter. In the 1960s, Captain Holton participated in a 26-day Admiral Byrd Society trip replicating the explorer's famous transpolar expedition, during which he met the Pope and Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev. Many items in the collection were brought back as souvenirs from that journey and other frequent voyages.
