the pattern designed in 1864 by George Wilkinson (1819-1894), Providence, Rhode Island, retailed by Starr & Marcus, New York, New York, with spatulate handle and reed-banded handle, the medallion at the crest of the heart-shaped bowls, which are gilt and decorated with a palmette, monogrammed "EJD".

Condition Report: **In good used condition with some wear throughout and negligible bends in two of the handles. The gilding is well-worn and all but entirely lost. Each marked on the reverse with the Gorham "lion-anchor-G" trademark, "Sterling" and "Starr & Marcus". An uncommon and attractive variant.
