4 Miniature Tortoiseshell Boxes, Sewing Related

Four (4) tortoiseshell miniature sewing related boxes, including one (1) thimble case, octagonal form with push latch and red velvet-fitted lining containing a gilt metal thimble hallmarked "A" and "S" in shield; one (1) needle case in the form of a knife box with push latch, lid with interior satin liner, and slotted compartments containing two packets of Kirby's London Ne Plus Ultra Needles; one (1) needle or snuff box, rectangular form with domed lid having silver cartouche, push latch, and velvet lining; and one (1) footed needle or snuff box, rectangular form with domed lid having silver cartouche, push latch, and velvet lined interior. Ranging in size from 1 3/8" H x 1 1/8" dia. to 1 1/2" x 2 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.

Condition Report: All items with minor scattered surface wear commensurate with age. Thimble case with minute loss measuring 1/8" L. Slight separation of lining to needle case. Footed box with scattered wear including losses, largest measuring 1/2" x 1/8".
