Possibly 19th c., Japan, "shell game" pieces, each pair with interior painted with matching scene or design in gouache and gold leaf (possibly on paper adhered to inside of shell), in custom cloth-lined trays, shells approx. 3.25"l x 2.5"w, in two trays, each 21.25"l x 12.25"w
Condition: Good/Fair, shells well-preserved without cracks or chips, paint and gilt with some peeling, curling and lifting with small losses **Note: Condition reports are based on visual inspection under typical office lighting.
