US Sword (Solingen) U.S. Army. On the base of the 33 3/4" blade it reads "Made In Germany The M.C. Lilley & Co., Columbus, O". The blade is ornately etched with "US" on one side and an eagle on the other. The blade is in excellent condition with no pitting. The leather wired grip has some wear from use. The ornate guard with eagle and pommel are in excellent condition. The scabbard retains the drag and hangers and has no pitting or dents. The officers tassel and rig have minimal wear. There is an old tag attached from a Col. Ripley from San Antonio, Texas sending the sword to "The Warwick Uniform Co." in New York via Wells Fargo Express.
