40040: 19th Century Niello Silver Mounted Caucasian Miq

19th Century Niello Silver Mounted Caucasian Miquelet Pistol. Unserialized, .62 caliber, 13 3/4-inch tapered barrel. Steel lock of typical form with traces of gold decoration. Damascus barrel with dual maker's mark and traces of Cyrillic writing in inlay along with gold decorations near breech. Two large Niello silver, 1 1/2-inch barrel bands along with simple third band towards muzzle. Hardwood stock with niello silver mounts on wrist area and two stage pommel [ball butt]. Steel ramrod present. Button trigger. Overall length approximately 20-inches. Condition: Good. Overall gun appears to have traces of a lacquer application. Metal with dark age patina and scattered pitting. Lockplate a bit loose. Various dings, stress separations to wood including a 2-inch loss near muzzle / ramrod area. Moderate tarnish to silver with few dents and bruising. Action appears to function but it is extremely tight, was not completely cocked. Bore is ok.
