Confederate Altered Model 1841 E. Whitney Percussion Mississippi Rifle. Unserialized, approximately .62 caliber, shortened 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Lock marked: N. HAVEN / 1849 and E. WHITNEY / S.C. Top of barrel stamped: JOB. Smooth walnut straight stock with brass furniture and hinged patchbox. Metal ramrod. Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable areas of handling wear, age and pitting. Heavy dings, scuffs and bruising present to wood. Some cracking near wrist and along fore-end edges.
