U.S. H. Aston Model 1842 Percussion Pistol. Unserialized, .56 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front brass sight. Lock marked: MIDDTN. / CONN. / 1847 and U.S. / H. ASTON. Top of barrel stamped: U.S. / GWH / P. Upper tang dated 1847. Smooth walnut stock with brass furniture and two cartouches to left side. Swivel ramrod. J.H. inspector mark to left side of barrel along with an H to backstrap and left side of forearm. Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
