Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver. Serial no. 45854 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Etched cylinder scene. COLT's / PATENT to left side of frame. Silver-plated brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1856. Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs and scratches present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
