"Cut-Down" Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver with Leather Rig. Serial no. 42522 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .36 caliber, 2 1/2-inch cut-down barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. COLT'S / PATENT to left side of frame. .36 CAL. stamped to left side of triggerbow. Brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1870. Contained in unmarked leather holster with belt. Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish in protected areas, the balance a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good.
