Brigadier General Jubal A. Early Pay Document Signed "JA Early." Two partially printed pages, 9.75" x 7.75", no place; December 4, 1861. A pay voucher for $903, for the period of September 1 to November 30, 1861, received from Captain John Ambler. Jubal Early (1816-1894) graduated from West Point in 1837 and saw his first service in the Mexican-American War. He entered Confederate service in 1861 and subsequently took part in all the engagements of the Army of Northern Virginia from 1862 to 1864.
